Project Overview
Alkhidmah Contracting & Trading SPC (Khidmah SPC) successfully executed a major water pipeline installation project in Al Amarat, Muscat, demonstrating our capability in large-diameter mechanical pipeline works and infrastructure construction.
The project involved the installation of a 1400 mm diameter water transmission pipeline, forming a critical part of the regional water distribution network designed to enhance the water supply capacity to Muscat and surrounding areas.
Scope of Work
Khidmah SPC was responsible for the complete mechanical execution of the project, covering all stages from planning and preparation to installation and testing.
Key Work Activities:
- Pipeline Installation: Laying and jointing of 1400 mm dia ductile iron (DI) and mild steel (MS) water pipelines.
- Excavation and Backfilling: Safe and controlled trench excavation, bedding preparation, and backfilling with compaction to meet design specifications.
- Mechanical Works: Welding, flange jointing, fittings, valve installation, and pipe alignment.
- Testing and Commissioning: Hydrostatic testing of the entire pipeline system to ensure integrity and leak-free operation.
- Support Infrastructure: Construction of thrust blocks, anchor supports, and access chambers.
- Coordination and Safety Management: Compliance with HSE standards, including safe handling of heavy pipes and machinery in challenging terrain.
