Excavation and Drainage Pipeline Works at Al Ghaith Chemical Industries Plant, Sur (Madayn Industrial Area)

Client: Al Ghaith Chemical Industries LLC

Location: Sur, Madayn Industrial Area – Sultanate of Oman

Scope: Civil and Utility Works – Excavation and Laying of Drainage Pipeline System Project Overview

Alkhidmah Trading & Contracting SPC successfully carried out excavation and drain pipe installation works at the Al Ghaith Chemical Industries Plant in Sur’s Madayn Industrial Estate. The project aimed to develop a reliable and efficient drainage system to support the plant’s operational and environmental requirements, ensuring safe disposal and management of stormwater and wastewater.

The scope included site excavation, trench preparation, pipe laying, backfilling, and surface restoration, all executed in compliance with the client’s technical specifications and safety standards.

Execution and Challenges

Working within a live industrial site presented challenges such as restricted work zones, underground utilities, and schedule constraints. Khidmah SPC effectively managed these challenges through detailed planning, continuous supervision, and close coordination with the client’s engineering team.

Our team deployed modern excavation equipment and skilled manpower to achieve efficient progress while maintaining safety and environmental control. The use of proper shoring, barricading, and dewatering techniques ensured a safe working environment throughout the project duration.

Scope of Work

Khidmah SPC’s civil and utility division handled the entire drainage installation with precision and adherence to engineering best practices.

Key Activities Included:

  • Excavation of trenches along designated routes for drain pipelines
  • Preparation of bedding layers to ensure proper pipe alignment and gradient
  • Laying and jointing of high-diameter drainage pipes as per design drawings
  • Backfilling and compaction using suitable materials for long-term stability
  • Surface restoration and site cleanup after completion
  • Coordination with plant management to minimize disruption to ongoing operations

Every stage was monitored by experienced engineers and safety officers to ensure accuracy, durability, and compliance with HSE requirements.
